The Tesla owner Elon Musk promised to bring Tesla electric cars to India 'as soon as possible'. Musk made these comments shortly after meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the US.

The Indian government said it had invited Musk to "explore investment opportunities" in the country's electric vehicle and space-based commercial projects.

Musk said he was trying to 'get the timing right'.

Musk's meeting with Modi came days after Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey's alleged anti-India 'threat to shut down the social site if content is not removed'.

Dorsey made this allegation in an interview given at a news event. However, the Indian government dismissed this allegation by terming his statement as 'outrageous lie'.

Commenting on this matter, Musk said on Wednesday that Twitter has no choice but to comply with the policies of the governments of the countries concerned. And if we can't do that, 'we will be banned'. "We will do our best to provide as much freedom of speech as possible under the law." - He said.

Musk also claims to be a 'Modi fan'. He also said that India has more potential 'than any other major country in the world'.

Musk also expressed his desire to bring Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by his rocket company SpaceX, to India.
